Tony Piper
The founder and Director of 4vco, Tony has been working with and advising senior Finance personnel within the financial services industry for over 13 years, the last 8 being in a consulting capacity. In 2001 he began work with a major London-based private equity firm and quickly decided to focus his efforts upon a dedicated support service for the PE industry. He launched 4vco in 2002.

Tony has built a considerable knowledge base and network within the PE client and software vendor communities and was the chief architect of the 4vco technology survey (completed during 2004). This combined knowledge and experience place him in a unique position to provide informed, independent advice to PE clients.

Prior to focusing upon the private equity industry, Tony spent 5 years in private banking and a further 5 in retail banking.

Tony is a Chartered Accountant and has a BA in Accounting and Finance. He currently lectures on "Selecting and Implementing PE Systems" for EVCA and is the author of the 4vco newsletter.

Sanjay Tolani
Sanjay joined 4vco in May 2007 as a senior consultant and will be taking an active role in 4vco sales and marketing initiatives as well as managing client projects. Before joining 4vco, Sanjay worked for a leading American private equity software provider for nearly two years. Sanjay was the head of the UK office for the software provider with overall responsibility for the EMEA region for sales, marketing, client relationship management and project implementations.

Prior to his experience with the software provider, Sanjay worked for five years at the private equity arm of a major US bank. Sanjay has more than 15 years overall experience in financial services including retail banking and brokerage services.

Sanjay has a BA in English Literature.

Paul Thompson
Paul is a founding member of 4vco and has over 20 years of industry and consulting experience, primarily in financial services. He has worked with private equity clients performing project management, business analysis and operational support roles across the front, middle and back office as well as internal IT and HR functions. As well as fulfilling his client duties, Paul is also responsible for the 4vco website.

Prior to joining 4vco, Paul spent a number of years as a systems consultant within the private banking industry. He also spent several years with a major retail bank, working in a formal IT environment where he led a team of 6 analysts/developers.

Paul has a BA in Management Sciences and French.

Barnaby Piggott
Barnaby has worked as a consultant in the private equity industry since 2001 and joined 4vco in 2003. He has fulfilled a variety of roles in over 20 client implementation projects and has guided numerous PE clients through the 4vco software selection process.

Barnaby's assignments have included several with a front office focus, where he has delivered comprehensive portfolio management solutions and associated fund and investment performance reporting. This has included the development of a number of complex financial modelling solutions.

In 2007, Barnaby successfully completed both the CFA Institute’s CIPM Expert exam and Level II of the CFA Program. He is a CFA Level III candidate.

He holds a BSc in Information Technology for Business from Aston University and is a Chartered Member of the British Computer Society and a member of both the CFA Institute and UKSIP.

Filip De Belie
Filip joined 4vco as a consultant in May 2007 to work on software selection, implementation and post-implementation support for 4vco clients across Europe. Filip has strong technical skills in addition to a solid grounding in private equity and finance operations.

Experience before 4vco includes two years as a hands-on project manager, responsible for implementation and operational support of a leading private equity software package for the private equity division of a large European bank. Prior to this he spent three years working in international finance, risk analysis and asset management.

Filip is fluent in English, French and Dutch and has a Masters degree in Applied Economic Sciences from Antwerp University.

Jeremy Hocter
Jeremy joined 4vco in June 2007. Jeremy has considerable experience in documenting business requirements, managing projects and managing data conversions, and he will be focussing on GP and LP client assignments.

Prior to joining 4vco, Jeremy, spent 4 years in the US as a business analyst defining requirements and managing implementations of private equity performance monitoring software to facilitate LP reporting. In addition to managing software projects, Jeremy has worked closely with limited partners ranging from large pension funds to family offices in developing reporting strategies for their quarterly and due diligence reporting needs.

Jeremy holds a BA in Finance and Information Technology from Bentley College in Boston, Massachusetts.

Sasha Rappaport
4vco's latest recruit, Sasha, joined 4vco in June 2008 as a consultant to focus on implementation and post-implementation support of front office projects.

Prior to joining 4vco, Sasha was an integral part of a client analyst team at a leading provider of secure online data rooms, which is widely used within the private equity community. He was responsible for project management, business analysis and process mapping and configuration of the internal front office system, including CRM. Sasha worked closely with senior managers to implement procedural improvements and enable trend reporting and analysis. Sasha also provided support and training to clients of the private equity online data room service.

Sasha has a BA in Psychology from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York.
